GRE (Graduate Record Examinations):

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a graduate school or business school entrance exam that influences admissions decisions. GRE General Test - Standardized test created and organized by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) that is designed to measure overall academic preparedness for graduate school. It also measures Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing skills which have been developed over a long period of time and are not related to specific subject area.

GRE Test Structure:

GRE General Test consists of three different sections: Analytical Writing, Quantitative Reasoning & Verbal Reasoning.
Total testing time is 3 hours and 45 minutes, and the breakdown of each section is as follows:

Analytical Writing (one section, two tasks) Task 1: Analyze an issue Task 2: Analyze an argument 30 minutes per task
Quantitative Reasoning (two sections) 20 questions per section 35 minutes for each section
Verbal Reasoning (two sections) 20 questions per section 30 minutes for each section
Total 3 hours 45 minutes
